If you have never been to Hermit Island, put it on your list of places to visit. Allie and Dave’s Hermit Island engagement session was the first time I had been to the island. First of all, the island is gorgeous and worth visiting. Hermit Island holds a special place in Allie and Dave’s relationship. Allie expressed from the beginning this was where they both wanted their engagement photos taken.
Every year they book a weekend camping trip to the island. During one of their camping trips, Dave proposed to Allie on one of the many beaches on the island. Due to this significance, they coordinated their annual camping trip around the only weekend that the island allows dogs. Since dogs were allowed on the island they brought, Thor, their dog. Allie and Dave are an adorable couple and anyone who is friends with them is super lucky, they are such fantastic people!
Allie is elegant and therefore wanted to include attire that was a bit more dressy. The contrast between the casual woodsy feel and their outfits was perfect. 
Opposite the woodsy part of the island was a gorgeous sand beach. Perhaps it was the calming effect of the ocean but this part of their session was inspiring! I loved how they interacted comfortably with each other. The love and affection this couple has for each other is so incredibly sweet.
Certainly, Thor was a main part of their photos. During this shot, he finally realized that the photos could be all about him!
Allie was a pro walking up the rocks in her high heels! As a result, I was nervous for her but she rocked it and managed to not slip or fall once!
Of course Thor was the center of attention! He is such a sweet pup.
After spending time on the beach, we decided to explore the island a bit more. 
While Allie and Dave did a outfit change at their campsite I played with Thor.
We finally made our way to the beach where Dave proposed to Allie. It is a quiet, intimate beach that required a little hike. I can see why Dave picked this spot to ask Allie to spend forever with him. 
Allie and Dave’s island engagement session was so incredibly beautiful. Not only was the scenery beautiful but the way these two interacted with each was so sweet. You can see how much they care and love each other just by their body language. 
As a result of including Thor, I was able to capture some very true and genuine photos of Allie and Dave.
The sunset was incredible for this island engagement! Clear skies and lots of sun, I was shocked when these clouds starting making an appearance. Nevertheless, we took full advantage of the dreamy sunset light.
This was the first photo that I pulled from Allie and Dave’s engagement session. As a result, it spoke volumes to me. Consequently, the simplicity of Allie and Dave walking on the beach with each other, the gorgeous sunset, and Allie’s wind blown hair makes for an all around beautiful photo. 
I almost always include a silhouette photo in engagement sessions if possible. It illustrates the raw emotion and love between the couple. In addition, it makes for a dramatic photo of the couple.
